Chicago Trip – Day 3

Woke up nice and late again with a dog licking my face. We headed to a place called The Bongo Room to have breakfast. I had the Pear and Cranberry French Toast. Delicious.

Luke and I then wandered around a couple stores again where I found a Jordan jersey for $4. That was the easiest decision of the trip.

We then met up with my buddy Zach downtown at H&M (ie skinny bitch store. Seriously there was barely anything there that fit me). I did, however, find a pretty cool hat for $15 and some aviator sunglasses for $5. So some key rockstar apparel.

We then walked down to Millenium Park, which is amazingly cool. Needless to say I needed to take some pictures (click on the images for larger ones).

The millenium park ampitheater. And of course, I had to take a few pictures of the giant mirrorball thinger (I’ve also heard it referred to as the mirrorball kidney).

If Luke and I ever do a duets album, I think this could be the cover. You can see Zach taking the picture too, which is kind of cool.

This seriously is like the most reflective thing in the world.

I don’t know who thought this up, but if you haven’t been there, there are giant faces in the middle of this little fountain like area.

And then for some reason, they spit out water. It’s really quite bizarre.

And here’s the new Trump Tower going in on the river. Supposedly it is going to eventually be 150 stories (biggest building in the world, I believe). Crazy.

After grabbing some dinner, Luke headed back and Zach and I went to a bar in downtown. He works at the Merchandise Mart, so we headed back there, but he had to catch a train, and I caught a cab. While standing outside merchandise, I was reminded of how much I love downtown Chicago at night.

I don’t know when I’d ever get sick of this.

So I headed back, and all of us were pretty worn out from staying out extremely late the last two nights. So we stayed in and watched Dumb and Dumber. It was wonderful.

Overall a great mini trip, and I can’t wait to be back there in less than two weeks. I love Chicago.

  1. Wow, that mirror ball is really impressive…

Tura said you’ve got a gig coming up over there and told me she’s putting up fliers! I’m so jealous of her. Once Toad’s Place reopens out here, I should find out what it’d take to get you guys a show there, so that I, too, could promote CS…
