Song Lyrics

Hands in Hand

(wow, so I meant to post this ages ago when I actually wrote it)
My first spiritual that I’ve ever written.  You won’t be able to tell from reading the lyrics, but it’s actually written in the tune and rhythm of the bells outside of my house that signal when the train come by.  And I’ll say that was only partially purposeful.

Hands in Hand

Precious Lord, take my hand
All these complications I can’t understand
Precious Lord, help me see
The beauty that lives inside me

We drink watered down whiskey in watered down times
With our watered down friendships and watered down lives

Gracious Lord, heal our hurt
From this pain we all so deserve
We all sit back not taking a chance
So we’ll never fall, but we’ll never dance
And despite broken legs, we will stand
And walk hands in hand

Blessed Lord, walk with us
Be our hope we so ruthlessly trust
Belssed Lord, be our light
When we lose our way in the night

We all sit back not taking a chance
So we’ll never fall, but we’ll never dance
And despite broken legs, we will stand
And walk hands in hand

Precious Lord, take my hand
Precious Lord, take my hand
